Two Very Amazing Horses Of Mine...

Havilla was the only one of all my horses who never came to me when I called her.  Though I would have to go get Havilla, she never made an attempt to run away from me.

Havilla, who was black, was extremely close to a beautiful gold palomino horse named Strand and the two were always together.  Yet when I would take Havilla away from Strand they were never upset being separated as some horses become.  When done with Havilla I noticed she would neigh for Strand and wait for him as he came to her.  Then the two would go on their way.

Watching the two one day, I noticed how after Strand came to Havilla, as they left Havilla was constantly touching his rump with her nose.  Then it suddenly hit me, something was wrong with her eyes!  Soon after the vet confirmed it.  After I told him about Strand being her eyes we both marvelled at HOW did they work this out?  HOW did Strand understand she needed him in that way?🐎💫💕

The farm where I boarded some of my horses was 200 acres with only the outer perimeter fenced.  There was a long driveway that wound its way through the property.  If Patches saw my car coming, I wouldn't even have to call him, because he KNEW my car!  He would come running, then follow or trot along side the car until we reached our special place.

Since two other boarders had cars the same color as mine with similar shapes, I asked them if Patches ever followed their cars thinking it was me.  He didn't.  Yet he KNEW exactly which was MY car from a long distance.  Amazing.

The miracle and wonder of horses...but then, I am really very prejudiced, you see.🐎😃🐎💕💫

How my pony Sadie taught two friends a lesson...

THIS is a very funny story NOW, but to me way
back THEN, I was definitely NOT very amused.🥴

During one of my many long hospital stays I had asked my dear friends Bob and Tom to visit the farm to check on my pony Sadie.  That was ALL they had to do.  "What could possibly go wrong?" I thought.  But you see, one day things did not quite happen as planned and they screwed up.  I mean they VERY ROYALLY screwed up.🙄

Since Bob and Tom knew Sadie could pull a cart, they had what THEY thought was a very bright idea one day.  Only I didn't own a cart nor did I like them because I wanted to be ON my horses, not BEHIND them!🐎  However, I did have Sadie's cart harness which came with her.  Unfortunately the guys knew WHERE the harness was kept.🙃

So they decided to make a two wheel cart.  They were really very proud of themselves too.  In fact, THEY thought what they built was brilliant.  The most brilliant pony cart in history.🤔

Somehow the very inexperienced Bob and Tom managed to get the harness on Sadie, they told me later.  Then they attached it to this very brilliant homemade cart the two were so proud of.  And perhaps it really just might have worked too, who knows?🤫

But you see, ONE of them had the ridiculous bright idea to shake with gusto a huge, very LOUD old cowbell one could hear in the next county to get Sadie moving.😱

Oh, Sadie moved all right.  She absolutely went FLYING!  I heard from other sources after they could quit laughing long enough to tell me, Sadie even reached a speed making her quite capable of reaching the next county in ten seconds!

Only that didn't happen, you see.  For neither the very brilliant cart nor the harness survived.  What did remain on Sadie though got caught around a tree, which not only stopped her but brought my pony to her knees until she could be extracted.  Thankfully SADIE was fine though.😃

However, the cart was NOT fine, ending up in many bits and pieces strewn everywhere.  In fact one of the wheels was never seen again.  And the guys?  AND THE GUYS?!!😳

Since they both knew I would be hearing about this, Bob and Tom decided they had better hurry up and visit me FAST to confess before the news could reach me.  Uh, that is once they were released from the emergency room of the same hospital I was in upstairs you see.🤫

So imagine my surprise when Bob and Tom entered my room with Bob's arm broken in a cast and sling, and Tom hobbling in on crutches due to a VERY sprained ankle.😱

At first I was very upset they both had been injured in some terrible, horrible way.

And then...AND THEN they told me, beginning first to quickly assure me Sadie was fine.  Hearing THIS, my compassion level for them suddenly dropped.

Hearing the rest of what happened my compassion PLUMMETED.  I mean REALLY plummeted all the way to the depths of oblivion folks.  For just a few  moments I literally wanted to throttle them.

And they were scared too.  Both admitted later how very grateful they were I was unable to get out of the bed at that moment to make their injuries any worse.🥴

Realizing they obviously had suffered enough and would already have some scars to carry with them, I couldn't help but to begin laughing.  And laughing
so hard tears were running down my cheeks.  We
all three did.  In fact we have laughed ourselves silly about this very "brilliant" endeavor of theirs for many years now.😂

But one thing became certain though, those two now knew better than to ever...EVER try using one of MY horses for any...ANY bright ideas they might have again.🐎😂🐎😂🐎

The Renegade And Danny Disaster...

In the horse world there is an old saying that a green horse with a green owner will be a disaster.  For those unfamiliar with equine lingo the word "green" in this context means untrained and INEXPERIENCE.  Also the green owner refuses to (a) admit he/she is green and (b) listen to those with more experience.🙄

Remember Danny?  The guy in yesterday's blog, "The Holding Onto Dignity Event Of The Century," who tinkered on cars insisting he was a good mechanic when he wasn't, whose brakes went out when I needed a ride as we careened down a steep hill at high speed, driving around the Higgins' driveway loop FIVE times waving and smiling to the Higgins on their veranda without ever stopping because we couldn't?!!  THAT Danny.🤣

As I had shared, just-a-friend Danny and I knew each other because he boarded his horse at the same farm as I did mine.  Now Danny had never owned a horse before or had any experience with horses, but he stubbornly refused to admit he was inexperienced because in HIS eyes the westerns he watched as a kid gave him all the learning he would ever need in handling a horse.🤔

Danny found an unbelievable deal on a tiny two year old filly he named Renegade.  We tried to tell him the reason why Renegade was cheap is because she was so young and only "greenbroke," meaning she accepted a saddle, bridle, and human on her.  And perhaps she had been taught how to go and stop but Renegade was FAR from being a trained horse.🥴

Another thing about horses is they know in a heartbeat if their hooman knows what they are doing or not.  If they know their hooman doesn't know a damn thing, why they are THRILLED to be able to take advantage of this situation without hesitation and can do it extremely well.🤣

Immediately after Danny and Renegade came upon the scene the stories began circulating between the rest of us helplessly witnessing this disaster unfolding before our eyes.  There wasn't a thing we could do though because Danny refused to hear any advice saying, "I know what I'm doing, thank you kindly."🙃

Here are just two incidents of the Danny/Renegade disaster...

If horses think they can get a hooman off their back, they will.  One day Danny and Renegade came charging up the hill full gallop to the barn area.  Only Renegade refused to stop you see, when Danny pulled the reins to stop.

Ohhh, this gets worse...

There was this horrid DEEP stink to high heaven sludge "pond" way beyond the barn which once contained hogs.  Renegade charged to the edge of this awful sludge "pond" and slammed to a stop.  Danny went flying over her head right smack into the DEEP STINKING SLUDGE!  Just covered in it.🤣

He blamed the bridle.  But it wasn't...the...bridle.

Next, Danny decided he and Renegade would ride off farm one day with Ben, John, and I riding our horses.  We TRIED to dissuade Danny because we knew this was not going to turn out well.  But Danny wouldn't hear of it.  So off the four of us went.😬

We were headed to the trails.  For a brief stretch we travel on a one lane road then reach an intersection to cross a two lane road leading into town.  The more seasoned horses knew the sounds of traffic, but apparently not Renegade yet.😮

As we began riding across the intersection a nearby truck backfired.  Renegade took off in terror down the busy two lane road.  We could see Danny trying hard to hold on as cars hurried out of the way or stopped as Renegade flew on.

A policeman tried to help by squawking his siren, which trust me DID NOT HELP SLOW Renegade down at all, as he tried to warn motorists of the runaway horse and rider.🥴

John, Ben, and I rushed back to the farm to get John's truck and horse van.  I stayed to get their saddles and bridles off their horses, the bridle off Bashum, fed them, and waited.

This was in the days before cellphones.  Finally the barn phone rang.  It was Danny.

"Awww, Miz Adelaide, I should've listened to all of you!"

"Danny!  Are you and Renegade okay?!!  Ben and John are out looking for you with the truck and horse van!"

"Well, Renegade and I are okay, but we sure caused a LOT of trouble for many people!  The school buses couldn't leave the school because all the Main Street traffic was forced to stop just because of us.  Then when Renegade did finally stop it was at this man's prize rose bushes in full bloom and I went flying into them and took out those prize rose bushes and oh man is he pissed!  The police aren't happy with me either."😖

"We'll talk about this later.  Where ARE you?"

"In front of the Sheriff's office.  With Renegade.  I think they would have locked us BOTH up if they could have fit Renegade into the cell with me!"🙄

"Be on the watch for the guys trying to find you, okay?!!  Call me back in ten minutes.  I'm going to hang up in case the guys call."

They did and I told them where to find Danny and Renegade.  Ben told me traffic was still snarled.  Then a policeman saw them, who promptly escorted them to the sheriff's office so they could pick up the renegade horse and rider who threw the whole town into complete chaos.  Besides destroying a poor man's prize rose bushes!

Back in those days the small town of Wildwood
still had its' own newspaper.  Usually not much ever happened to report about.  However, "The Renegade Horse And Rider," story with pictures filled the front page!🙄

At first the rest of us feared we would no longer have access to the trails via the crossing but the townspeople realized there had never been a problem before in all the years the farm had boarders, so we very gratefully were allowed to continue.😃

Danny?  And Renegade?

Danny was cited for disturbing the peace.  Then of course had to make restitution for the prize roses destroyed.  My fellow boarders and I gave the man honey from the beehives one kept, another a small quilt she made, Ben and John repaired his fence, and I gave him two of my prints.  We happily succeeded with our intent to leave he and his wife with a much kinder feeling concerning horses and their riders.😃

Danny realized he was crazy and stubborn by thinking anyone could get on any horse and ride just like they did in westerns, and for not listening to us when we tried to help.  He was happy to sell Renegade to a fellow boarder who immediately changed Renegade's name to Star and went on to train her into a beloved horse her grandchildren rode for many happy years.😃

As far as Danny, he continued to tinker with cars, yet we all absolutely refused to let him ever tinker with OURS...🤣

The Holding Onto Dignity Event Of The Century...

Though Kentucky is not considered to be a deep south state we nevertheless share some of the unique traits of the south.  Three of the most important things here are charm, saving face, and loyalty.  Gossip absolutely does not EVER apply to southern loyalty you see, for one can gossip like crazy without shame from one end of Kentucky to the other and yet STILL be considered as VERY loyal.

It is also very highly important to know this region is quite hilly.  For our Muldraugh Hills throughout Horse Country Kentucky are not JUST hills BUT are noble MOUNTAINS only worn down alittle by age.

Also here in the south, especially on many of our horse farms the main houses have huge verandas where families gather on nice Sunday afternoons.  Another very charming thing about the south is the fact ladies here are addressed as "Miss" with their first name, only it tends to get pronounced as "Miz" instead, such as Miz Adelaide.

My just-a-friend Danny exemplified southern charm and as I soon discovered, saving face which means tenaciously holding onto one's dignity no matter how much one is losing one's dignity, which by the way Danny took to extremes.  Danny also tinkered on cars yet I assure you he wasn't at all as good on them as he thought he was.  In fact Danny failed miserably when it came to cars (and horses too actually), BUT he boarded a horse at the same farm I did which is how we knew each other.

After I had to learn to walk again the second time following my second spine surgery, but hadn't been allowed to drive yet, Danny very kindly drove me out to the farm with him.  But for some reason he was always driving a different car though.🙃

Have I said how hilly it is here yet?  Believe me, it really IS very VERY hilly here.🤣

So one bright Sunday afternoon after Danny and I had been out at the farm and were heading back to town, we were speeding down a very steep former mountain when Danny calmly said to me, "Uh oh, Miz Adelaide, the brakes went out again."

Not so calmly I replied, "WHAT?!!  WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE BRAKES WENT OUT?!!"😱

"We have no brakes."🙄

"OHHH SHIT!"

Then as we were careening down this very steep hill which used to be a mountain, Danny suddenly turned the speeding car into the driveway of the Higgins Mansion.  On the veranda were gathered
all the generations of Higginses with all of their iced teas.😳

The driveway had a loop which proceeded right in front of the verandah (southern spelling).  Danny wanted to drive around this loop a few times till we hopefully slowed down enough to proceed on our way.  But you see, we were not in a position to tell the Higgins family what was happening BECAUSE WE COULDN'T STOP TO TELL THEM, and Danny was flat out determined to save any remaining shreds of his dignity at all cost, while his passenger was wondering if SHE should save her life by making a leap from the speeding car and to hell with any dignity.

"Now Miz Adelaide, each time we drive past the Higginses veranDAH politely wave and smile to them so they think what we're doing is normal."

"WHAT?!!  THIS ISN'T NORMAL."🤣

"Please just do it?  I don't want the Higgins to think
I've screwed up another car."🙃

SO...we ended up making not one, not four, but FIVE loops all around the Higgins' driveway loop very politely waving and smiling to all the Higginses each loop we went around like not a thing was wrong, as all the Higginses very politely waved and smiled back to us each loop we made with the most startled looks upon their faces.🥴

"Uh Danny, aren't they all wondering WHY WE'RE NOT STOPPING?"🤣

"Probably.  But southern charm means if somebody comes down your driveway making five loops around your loop one Sunday while very politely waving and smiling as they go by in front of your verandah each time without stopping, you respond with sincere politeness back without questioning their reasons."🙄

"BUT DANNY, THEIR FACES HAVE 'QUESTIONING OUR REASONS' WRITTEN ALL OVER THEM!"😂

"Yeah, well maybe being a little mysterious about exactly why we're making these five loops around their loop is a good thing."

"Danny, you know they're going to be talking about this for decades, right?"

"Maybe."

By the time we made five loops and headed safely on our way with the brakes miraculously working again somehow, Danny and I left all the Higginses and their ice teas with one final series of our well executed very polite smiles with waving and then even a toot on the car horn too, after a charmingly successful saving dignity event.👍

And yes, nearly everyone in the whole region soon heard about the Sunday the charming Danny and Miz Adelaide made a social call FROM A MOVING CAR TEN LOOPS (it became exaggerated in the MANY retellings through the decades, you see) while happily waving and smiling at the Higgins family as they all sat on their veranDAH with their ice teas very happily waving and smiling back.

I began driving again immediately afterwards...🤣

How Adelaide Went To Prison...

Compassion is what you give because of who YOU are...not because of who THEY are.

Unless you find peace within yourself, you will never find it anywhere else.

                    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many years ago I visited a group for the families
of alcoholics, to try to better understand the alcoholism in my family.  At the same church was a meeting for Alcoholics Anonymous and afterwards both groups mingled drinking coffee.
This is when I met Nora...
"You're short."
"No shit.  You're black."
"No shit.  I like you!"
"I like you too!"
Though Nora was many years older than me we became very close friends.  She was a recovering alcoholic and oh, what a journey she had been on!
Briefly, after many years of hard drinking Nora
was dying of alcohol poisoning in the old General Hospital.  She had been wheeled to the area for those soon to die.  Only God had more for her to do and spoke to her.  Told her she was going to get sober and help others.
She lived, got sober, and became a very powerful speaker.
One day the Warden of a women's prison an hour out of the city asked Nora to come speak.
She asked, "Can I bring a friend?  I don't drive and I need her to bring me, but she too has quite a story to tell."
The Warden told her he would be thrilled to have us both.
So off to the maximum security prison we went.  Neither Nora or I had ever been inside a prison before.  There are a whole lot of guards.  And a whole lot of iron gates.  After the massive fourth one clanged shut behind us Nora whispered to me, "I sure hope they let us back out of here!"
I was hoping the same thing.
The women, guards, and Warden absolutely loved us.  We were asked to come back many times.  The Warden, guards, and most of all the women said we reached them in ways no one else ever did before.
I think one of my favorite African American writers Zora Neale Hurston says it best, "You have to go there to know there."  Meaning you have had to walk through it to be able to inspire...that we weren't talking "at" them with just words but "to" them as survivors like they could be too.
Anyway it was quite an experience for us both.  And we soon became in demand as speakers too.  When the Warden told his wife about what powerful yet also very funny speakers Nora and I were, she had us come speak to her Women's Group.  Then many of those ladies had us come speak to their groups.  Before we knew it we both became very busy doing speaking engagements.
Eventually Nora married a wonderful man who began showing up wherever we were engaged to speak.  Soon they were in love and I was thrilled for them both.
I continued my journey of challenge surmounting and soaring on my horses everywhere theatres continued seeking my talent.  Yet no matter where I went or which hospital I could suddenly be thrown into, Nora and I remained very close until her passing.
You see my dear ones, we just never know what amazing treasures may become ours to hold through the compassion within us we bring forth to share with others.💕
More Crazy Theatre Hilarity 101...
Crazy events all down through Theatre History and all down through MY own history in Theatre ALWAYS happens NOT during rehearsals but before a full Opening Night House including Board Members and even a critic or two.  The first of the following two pieces is really more about equine sweet revenge exacted upon two who stubbornly refused to listen, while the second piece is hilarious...
Many years ago the theatre I designed for was doing
a huge musical production of "Gone With The Wind."
This became one of the largest productions I was ever involved with.
For "The Burning Of Atlanta" scene to end Act I, new lighting technology made the stage appear to be in flames.  This also included a huge tree engulfed in "flames" too which royally crashes to the stage.
Now then, the Artistic Director and the Director of the musical got it into their heads there just HAD to be a real live horse on stage for this scene.  Knowing about my decades owning horses including Patches by then too, I was asked what I thought about this given my expertise on the matter...
"Adelaide," asked the Artistic Director, "what do you think about this?  Should we attempt it?"
"No way in hell!  First you will be lucky to even GET a horse onto the stage!  Then, WE know the stage won't really be on fire but a horse won't!  Besides having a huge tree in "flames" crash to the stage too?!!  Even a sedated horse on stage in a production like this will be terrified beyond belief!  It would be very cruel to do this."
Then cried the Director, "But I WANT a horse for this!  We absolutely must, and I mean MUST have a horse during the scene!"
I begged them not to but you know, sometimes Artistic Directors, play Directors, and even Executive Directors too, can be terribly stubborn.  Especially as experience tries to urgently warn them about what will happen.
Ohhh, they should have listened to your Adelaide, for much to their deep regret later those two wished they had.  Because not only were these two drowning in humiliation and the anger unleashed upon them, they lost their jobs.  You see, on this Opening Night all our Board Members were there as well as the Critics, and long before Act I even reached the place of no return, our Board Members were questioning the very sanity of these two guys for cruelly having the audacity of putting a horse on stage as Atlanta burns.  And as upsetting as this was for me to see unfold then, that dear horse certainly did take sweet revenge upon those two guys.
For you see, events happened accordingly...
Before Atlanta even began to burn the poor terrified, nervous horse began releasing tons of very runny shit all over the stage actors began slipping and falling in.
Watching from the wings I could see this alone was clearly having a very negative effect upon the distinguished Board Members, not to mention the Critics all seated in the seats closest to stage front where all the shitting was taking place.
And the worse was still yet to come!
For all at once Atlanta began burning.  This is when the terrified horse dragged the small boy the Director put with the horse from one end of the stage to the other trying to get away, which is when its owner rushed out on stage.
Right on cue the huge tree in "flames" came crashing down.  Only it didn't STAY down.  Of all times for a malfunction to happen one did as the tree kept rising back up and crashing down again...and again...and again...
This is the moment when that poor dear horse leaped off the stage taking the owner with it.  Not good, so not good.
Though the dear horse thankfully landed safely, it narrowly missed landing on the Board Members and Critics which was indeed a very good thing.  However their fancy expensive dresses and tuxedos were hit with a very substantial amount of runny horse shit.  And I must say this DEFINITELY was not to their liking at all.
So instead of that poor horse being able to exit the theatre the way it entered at the stage door in the back, it galloped up the House Right Aisle because you see that tree was still rising and crashing as frantic technicians were working to make it stop.  No way was the horse going to wait around!
Imagine the absolute surprise of the Lobby personnel when suddenly a horse dragging its hooman came galloping into the Lobby spraying shit as it went!
Thankfully, what kept that poor dear horse from crashing through the windows to escape the horrors of Atlanta Burning, was one of the Lobby columns.  The horse flew past it on one side while the owner ended up on the other, which gave the owner at last the means to make the poor dear horse stop.
Throwing his keys to an usher the owner instructed him to bring his truck with the horse van to the front of the theatre...PRONTO!  I rushed over to assist the owner in calming the horse while we waited for the van to arrive.
Thankfully our lobby had more than just revolving doors in the front because I can assure you, no way in hell would anyone get that horse to exit through a nice revolving door.  No, no, no, but with the owner and I both leading it on each side the horse safely exited through one of the large glass doors, then went right into the waiting horse van once traffic could be stopped without any further problems.
Drivers and sidewalk bystanders looked on in shock watching a horse and a Little Person[?!!] exit the ornate theatre lobby front entrance to then get into the waiting van.  Not your typical everyday event to see in the city even if it was happening in front of a theatre!  Oh my, if only they had witnessed the event INSIDE the theatre that just happened!
Well...more than Atlanta got scorched that evening besides the tree and stage.  Especially after the Board Members learned from the very apologetic Artistic Director and play Director how Adelaide had tried her best to warn them but they refused to listen.
Since much of the stage and the first few rows of seats were a stinking mess besides the Board Members (who now were a stinking mess too though dressed nicely), the performance would have to be rescheduled and the Critics bribed by the wealthy Board President to please return the next night instead to review the production.  Whatever he bribed them with, it worked.
By the following night all had been thoroughly cleaned and repaired to working order.  THIS time Atlanta burned properly.  And the tree fell just once.
And thankfully there was no horse...who, by the way I visited two days later with peppermints, grateful to see a very happy, calm horse.  At my insistence I had asked the Board Members and received approval for the Theatre covering an immediate veterinary check on
the horse the day after the fiasco and all was well.  The owner assured me never again would he agree to having his horse in a theatre production.👍🎭🐴💫
Lightning can indeed strike in the same place more than once and unbelievably did it ever.  This little event not only happened at the same small theatre I shared a hilarious event with you here last time, but is all too amazingly similar.  No bonking bovines though.
I told you how our Costumer Laura's pants split wide open during a production of Romeo And Juliet in the middle of nowhere at a park.  And it wasn't that her pants just split, it was the underpants she had chosen to wear that day.  For Laura's underpants just happened to have in big red letters the words, "I'M NAUGHTY" which stood out like a neon light in her split as wide as the Amazon River.
Fast forward two performance seasons.
We were doing a small production of the Andrew
Lloyd Webber musical "The Phantom."  A very lovely actress/singer named Serena played the female lead.
This was Opening Night and our performance that evening was sold out.  We also had been told an agent from New York was there.  Now for aspiring actors this is always a huge deal for those who seek success on Broadway.
Serena and Justin who was The Phantom, both aspired to reach Broadway fame.  And both wanted to and did really give a kick-ass performance that night.
If familiar with "The Phantom," candelabras are an important part of the props.  Of course the candles we used were not real.  However near the Grand Finale of Act II, the candle prop failed as they sort of jack-knifed as the candelabra shifted weirdly for some reason.
Near the end Serena runs on, kisses the Phantom then turns to run off.  Due to this "new" candelabra position Serena had to jump over the candles now in her way.
There was a problem with this maneuver though Serena could not forsee, because as she leaped high over the protruding candles, the end of her long dress got caught on the candles and candelabra.
In Theatre there are certain sounds those of us in the wings hear that cause us to freeze in horror as we did when Laura's Rip was heard around the world.
Serena's Ripping Event was not only heard by us, we watched in horror as the entire back section of Serena's dress from her waist down caught on the candelabra and was torn away leaving our dear Serena's rear end exposed.  Not JUST her rear end itself mind you, but her underpants.
Like our dear Laura, this was not a good day for Serena to have her black underpants exposed which had very bright hot pink lettering one could even read from the Lighting Booth they said, which is a considerable distance away up high.  I personally have always suspected the guys were using the binoculars kept up there though.😂
And the lettering for ALL to see?!!
Well, you surely are aware of the iconic "I 💖 NY?"
Serena's black underpants had in the brightest hot pink lettering with a big heart:  "I 💖 SEX."🤩
At the touching ending of Phantom those of us Stage Right in the wings, then the Phantom, then the audience seated House Left, suddenly all found ourselves lost in uncontrollable laughter.  Yet Serena was still at this moment totally oblivious to the fact of which underwear she chose this day to wear and as to why it was now having such an impact upon approximately two hundred people including the New York agent who just happened to also be seated in House Left too.🤣
After Serena finally made it to the Stage Right wing, since I was the only female present it fell upon me to
be the one to tell Serena why we were losing it.  Only it took me a moment to pull myself together first so I could.
"Serena dear, you are wearing undies letting the world know this fact about yourself:  "I 💖 SEX."
"OHHH SHIT!"😱
"Hey it's all right!  Only all those seated House Left got
a clear view of seeing what it is you love!"
We quickly got Serena into another dress for the
Curtain Calls, which by the way, Serena alone received very enthusiastic applause each time she stepped forth and bowed...most of it coming from House Left.🤣
And guess what?!!
That agent from New York came backstage.  Signed Serena and Justin each to a Theatre contract for one of the biggest agencies in NYC!
So wearing THOSE underpants on the very day the back of Serena's dress tore away really paid off!👏💫
There surely must be a very important Theatre moral
to this story here somewhere about wearing specific underwear with the right lettering that can assist in reaching one's dreams, assuming one's clothing is ripped off at the right moment for all to see on an Opening Night...😂💫🎭
